The Lompoul Desert, located halfway between Saint-Louis and Dakar, contains sand dunes 50 meters high, making this space one of the most beautiful dune deserts of all Senegal. The desert extends over 30 kilometers offering an impressive show of endless dunes and is an area of 18 km². Destination become popular with tourists, the Senegalese desert Lompoul offers a taste of the Mauritanian deserts located further north. Excursions are organized from Saint-Louis (100 kilometers away) and accommodation is under Mauritanian tents, Khaimas. The ascent of the dunes is quite spectacular, with the key, a unique panorama at the top. You can also enjoy the place by hiking or camel riding
