Over View

Uganda is a land of contrasts. Uganda is alive with these contrasts the massive lumbering yet silent elephant, disappearing like a vapor behind the trees, the chimpanzees crashing about the forest canopy, the lugubrious gorilla, chewing thoughtfully, in the bamboo thicket. There is the Nile, twisting its way north like a shimmering ribbon, through arid semi desert scattered about with rocky copes, Snow-capped peaks, tropical, sandy, freshwater beaches and smiling faces everywhere.

Day 2: Game Drive at Murchison Falls National Park

Early in the morning our warm and friendly Safari Guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Murchison falls National Park. The adventure will start with a game drive across the Savannah, along Lake Albert Delta, slowly through the wildlife. As you climb to the narrow gorge that makes the famous Murchison Falls, look out for;

The 76 species of mammals including four of the “Big Five”, with huge herds of buffaloes and elephants, well-camouflaged leopards and a healthy population of lions

Olive baboons are common along the roadsides – be sure to keep car windows and doors shut if you don’t want to lose your lunch! Blue and red-tailed monkeys and black-and-white colobus can be found in the forested sectors

Day 3: Boat cruise on the Nile

This interesting but more placid activity: the boat launch, will take you through the extensive papyrus delta through which the Victoria Nile flows into Lake Albert. Here again there are plenty of animals and birds to see with an excellent chance of seeing the rare Shoebill. The varied habitats of Uganda’s largest park make it home to a variety of birds with 451 species recorded. The list includes the Shoebill Stork, the Goliath Heron – the largest heron in the world – and pairs of elegant Grey Crowned Cranes - Uganda’s national bird. Also seen along the banks of the Nile are the Blue-headed Coucal, Swamp Flycatcher, Squacco Heron, African Jacana, Sandpipers, Denham’s Bustard, and many more. This cruise takes four to five hours.
