An 8 days birding safari to Uganda.
Day 0: Arrival
Arrival at the airport and will be picked by our company Driver and a representative from the company and will be transferred to your Hotel. Dinner and overnight at Central inn Entebbe/ Golf view inn Entebbe.( In case they arrive early morning, we shall do the activities for day 1 on the day of arrival so that we transfer to Queen the next day)
Day 1: am bird Mabamba pm bird around Lake Victoria sorroundings.
After an early morning Breakfast, we shall head to Mabamba swamp for a shoebill and many other birds head back to the Hotel for lunch, after lunch bird the Botanical gardens and the other Lake Victoria surroundings. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day2:Transfer to QUENP
Whole day transfer to Queen Elizabeth N.Park birding en-route via the equator. Dinner and overnight at Queen bush lodge
Day 3:Whole day QUENP
After breakfast, a morning game drive and birding will be ideal. Lunch at the lodge and go for the boat launch at Kazinga Channel in the afternoon where we shall see a variety of wild life and bird life as well. A variety of game such as hundreds of hippos, crocodiles will be viewed. Other animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, Uganda Kob, Bush buck, Warthog will include Green-backed heron, Yellow billed stork, Saddle billed Stork, African spoonbill, martial eagle, African Skimmer, grey headed gull, grey, purple and goliath herons, black Crake, African Crake, Common quail and Rufous-naped lark. Late in the evening after the boat we head for an evening drive for Night jars. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable N.Park
After Breakfast, You will transfer to Bwindi N.Park via Ishasha we shall have lunch on the way. At Ishasha we shall view a variety of game including Climbing Lions, Buffaloes and other games. We shall do an evening walk around Buhoma area in search of the Mannikin in the evening (in case we arrive early) Silverback Lodge.
Day 5:Whole day birding Bwindi N.Park.
After Breakfast, bird along the main trail for species like Red-throated Alethe, Archer’s Robin chat, Kivu Ground Thrush, Montane Masked Apalis, Collared Apalis, Gruaer’s Warbler, Short-tailed Wabler, Red-faced Woodland Warbler, Yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher, Rwenzori Batis anad Strange Weaver ,Western Bronze-naped Pegion ,Dusky and Olive Long-tailed Cuckoos ,Fraser’s Eagle owl, Montane( Rwenzori)Nightjar, Bar-tailed Trogon,Black bee-eater,Willcock’s honeyguide,Fine-banded and Elliot’s Wood peckers,Grey-chested and Mountain Illadopses, White bellied Robin-Chat, Forest Ground Thrush, Black-faced Rufous Warbler, Chapin’s Flycatcher, Many-coloured Bush-Shrike, Brown-capped Weaver, White-collared Olive-back, Red-fronted Antpecker and Oriole-Finch Dinner and overnight as above.Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 6: Gorilla Tracking. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 7: Whole day Birding Bwindi. ( and in case the group needs to be divided into two to track, then part of the group tacks on day 6 and another on day 7 as the other goes tracking. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 8:Transfer back to the airport:
Whole day transfer to Entebbe Airport for an evening return flight birding en-route if time allows.
