There are about 1060 Mountain Gorilla individuals remaining out there in the world and Bwindi alone has almost half of the total world’s population of these creatures.
While in Uganda on this 3 days gorilla trekking safari, there are 99% chances that you will spot the mountain gorillas and incase of failure, you will be offered another opportunity to track them at no extra cost. There are 4 Mountain Gorilla trekking regions in Bwindi and depending on the time you confirm your trip, will determine on where you track from these gorillas. The mountain Gorilla Trekking regions of Bwindi include Buhoma sector in the North, Ruhija sector in the East, Rushaga and Nkuringo Sectors are located in the southern side of Bwindi.
Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe/Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
The day will open up early morning at 6am with introduction and briefing from our safari guide who will give you all the details involved in this trip. You will then start your drive to the deep South western parts of Uganda as the journey is about 8-10 hours’ drive depending on the nature of traffic jam in the Kampala capital city. 70km into this drive along the Masaka road you will make your first stopover for a photo session on the Equator Monument in Kayabwe Town. While at the equator, you will have a picture moment showing how you crossed the world in the middle from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere. Right after this experience we shall proceed to Mbarara town while crossing the dry plains of Lake Mburo National Park for a hot lunch stopover as well as refreshments.
Right after lunch, we shall continue with our journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park arriving late in the evening for dinner and relaxation as we prepare for the next day’s Mountain Gorilla Trekking excursion.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable Forest and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation
Depending on the Location of your safari lodge, this will determine at what time you will have breakfast. You will then head out to the park headquarters for briefing, allocation of what gorilla family to trek as well as getting a porter especially for those who face difficulty walking longer distances. Each Gorilla family is allocated a group of 8 individuals and accompanied by one guide as well as two armed rangers to protect to keep you safe as you walk through the forest.
You will then head out to the misty forest of Bwindi , a journey that goes for 2 – 8 hours of walking through bushes and thickets. With the help of the ranger guide, you will find the mountain gorillas and it’s at this moment the you will be allowed to stay around them for one full hour as you watch them play, feed and Groom each other. You will later return to your starting point to pick your certificate as proof that you trekked the mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda. This will be a milestone ticked off your travel bucket list.
Right after your gorilla trek, you will then embark on your 2 -3 hour journey to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake for relaxation as you memorize on the day’s amazing gorilla encounter.

Day 3: Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi Back to Kampala/Entebbe
At sunrise, you will have breakfast and then go for an amazing boat trip on the numerous islands on this lake. Lake Bunyonyi has about 29 islands and each of these islands have got a unique story that your local boat and site guide will help you out in interpreting. After the 1 hour boat trip, you will checkout of your lodge and then head back to Entebbe or Kampala with a lunch at the Famous Equator restaurant and this will mark the end of our amazing 3 days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Uganda Safari Tour.
