This 6 Days Great Serengeti Migration Safari package has been designed specifically to focus on and to increase your chance to see the great Serengeti Wildebeest Migration. By the end of April, the wildebeest migration starts to spread west across the plains towards the Seronera area (central Serengeti) and Western Corridor (western Serengeti). The majority of the migration can normally be seen in the Seronera area (or just south of the Seronera, in the southern plains) from April to May. The herd continues heading north towards the Maasai Mara in Kenya. By June the long rains have stopped, and the dry season is in full swing. It will stretch from the end of May to early November. The weather is sunny with some easing thunderstorms in the evenings. The herds are beginning to grow stronger and faster. Since the calves are maturing, the wildebeest travel collectively at their peak speed, covering up to 150km (93 miles) per day. There’s power, it seems, in numbers.
