LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Lake Manyara National Park Located 125 km west of Arusha town, nestling by the wall of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park is one of the oldest and most popular sanctuaries in East Africa. The main habitats include the shallow soda lake itself which occupies 77% of the National Park total area of 330 sq. km, the ground water forest, open grassland, acacia woodland and the rift wall.
The most famous spectacle in the park is the tree-climbing lions, which are occasionally seen along branches of acacia trees. Other animals found in the park include buffalo, elephants, leopards, baboons, impala, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, ostrich and hippos. Popularly referred to as an ornithologist’s paradise, Lake Manyara National Park contains over 400 bird species found in most savanna and river habitats in East Africa.Once you have arrived safely at Kilimanjaro airport you will be met by one of our friendly driver who will transfer you to the Hotel in Moshi. Should you arrive early you can explore the small town of Moshi, which is only a short taxi ride away, or you can just relax at the lodge and get ready for the days ahead. You will also meet with one of our operations staff and Guide who will explain everything you need to know regarding your trek and check all your equipment.
Moshi – Lake Manyara National Park
07:30hrs: Depart Moshi by Safari Jeep to Manyara National Park. The distance from Moshi is 210kms.
10:00hrs: Arrive at the park and proceed on a Game drive. Animals expected to be seen include: Elephants, Dik Dik, Leopards, zebra, giraffe, ostrich and different kind of birds.
13:00hrs: At lunch time you will stop at a nice picnic site and enjoy an amazing lunch. Thereafter, you will proceed on a game drive.
16:00hrs: You will depart the National park and proceed to Moshi town.
18:00hrs: You will arrive at Moshi town thereafter, transfer to your hotel/residence.
