The Fes desert tour 2 days will start around 7 am where you will begin to travel southeast to Merzouga, passing through multiple cities in the Middle Atlas mountain range. The first stop will be Ifran, referred to as "the Switzerland of Morocco", followed by Azrou and the famous cedar forest, where you might see some Barbary apes, then Errashidia, and finally on to Merzouga by way of Midlet and the Ziz Valley. During this journey, you’ll experience the picturesque scenery of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas Mountains. You will notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errashidia. We will stop for lunch and picture worthy panoramic views along the way. We will also drive through welcoming Berber villages such as Rissani, the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty, which is the current ruling royal family of Morocco.
Arriving in Merzouga at the end of the day, you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check-in to your riad. You will be able to relax for a short time before meeting the camels that will take us on an adventure in the sand dunes. We will then spend the night in an equipped camp/nomad tent with an enjoyable evening of listening to drums and music in the Sahara at sunset.
