This holy site in northern Côte d'Ivoire was built in Sudanese style. It is the oldest symbol of the Islamization of peoples. Destroyed by Samory Touré around 1897, Kong's grand mosque was rebuilt at the dawn of the 20th century. It has retained its function as a gathering place.
