10 Days Wildebeest Migration Safari Package Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Nairobi

Pick up from the airport on arrival and transfer you to Panafric hotel for overnight stay booked on bed and breakfast.


Day 2Nairobi - Masai Mara for Wildebeest Migration Safari

Pick up from your hotel at 0730 hrs and drive via the scenic Great Rift Valley, to the Mara Reserve arriving in good time for lunch. Afternoon game drive is taken. Dinner and overnight at Mara Ilkeliani Tented lodge


Day 3Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration Safari trails

Full day spent exploring the park trailing wildebeest migration optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 450 per person Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Ilkeliani Tented The Masai Mara Game Reserve is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film ‘Out of Africa’ was made to a great extent in this reserve. Virtually every type of wildlife can be seen at the Mara.


Day 4Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration Safari trails

Check out of Ilkeliani Tented camp and proceed for further game drives in the vast Masai Mara plains in search of the big 5 – Check inn at Mara Ashnil Luxury camp where you spend 2 nights as you trail the wildebeest herds. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle from Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara River to reach Masai Mara grazing fields from late June. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from early July to October. The reserve abounds with birdlife since dose to about 452 species has been recorded. Hot air balloon safaris are readily available in this park


Day 5Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration Safari trails

The Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya forms part of the larger Serengeti ecosystem, incorporating the Serengeti National Park in neighbouring Tanzania. These two premier game parks together host one of the most massive wildlife migrations on the planet – the Great Migration. Also known as the Wildebeest Migration this wildlife spectacle entails the seasonal movement of millions of wildebeest, zebra and other grazers. The Great Migration is a truly awe-inspiring wildlife phenomena with stampeding hoofed mammals charging across the open plains and plunging into the crocodile-infested rivers in search of fresh grazing. Of course, these great herbivore numbers attract an array of eager predators, in addition to the hungry crocs.


Day 6Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National park

Breakfast then drive Lake Nakuru National park- to arrive in good time for lunch at Flamingo hill lodge afternoon game drives the scenic park famed for numerous species of birdlife especially the pink flamingoes. dinner and overnight stay at Flamingo Hill Lodge Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake in the Rift Valley, renowned for its spectacular flamingo population as one of the world’s greatest ornithological spectacles. Although Lake Nakuru is primarily a bird sanctuary, there are a considerable number of animals to be encountered, such as many large game animals such as zebras, elephants, and gazelles, this is one of our best chances of seeing rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park was the first place in Kenya selected as a rhino reserve. Here is one of the few places where we can see Rothschild’s giraffes.


Day 7Lake Nakuru - Sweet waters Game Reserve

After breakfast, we depart to Sweetwaters game reserve arriving in time for lunch. Game drives here reveal the full range of African wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, and hippo. Enjoy a private visit with the tame animals at the wildlife orphanage. Observe chimps from the Jane Goodall Institute at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Optional activities include walking safaris escorted by a local ranger, bird walks with several hundred species to observe, horseback and camel rides. Accommodation at Serena Sweetwaters Luxury Tented Camp: Full Board.


Day 8Sweet waters Game Reserve - Samburu National Park

Early breakfast at your hotel, short game en-route, Leave sweetwaters for Samburu pass the equator to Samburu land. arriving with a short game drive in time for lunch and check-in at Sopa Lodge have lunch and relax. In the afternoon we go watching crocodiles basking on the muddy riverbanks and velvet monkeys frolicking in the Sun. Samburu Park has unique resident wildlife species like the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, and the Blue legged Somali Ostrich. Dinner and overnight at Sopa Lodge.


Day 9Samburu National Park

Morning and afternoon game drives set you in search of unique northern Kenya species such as the reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, and the long-necked gerenuk. Much of the reserve consists of the desert landscape – dusty red plains broken by thorny scrub, featuring dramatic views of tabletop Mt Ol Olokwe on the horizon. Accommodation at SOPA Samburu Lodge on Full Board Basis.


Day 10Samburu National Park - Nairobi

Early Morning breakfast at your lodge check out of the lodge and park and Drive to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch. Lunch at carnivore afterwards drop off at Airport for flight Back Home.
