DAY 1: IN THE CHANNELS OF THE OKAVANGO DELTA (-/L/D)
The tour starts in Maun in the early morning with a hotel pickup around 7:30
AM. Followed by a 1-2hour long transfer to a small village in the Okavango
Delta NG32 Concession.
You will be allocated a guide/poler from the village community trust, who will
take you on an unforgettable journey through the channels of the Okavango.
Born and raised in the Okavango Delta, the polers and guides show you their
home which they are very passionate and knowledgeable about. We support
the local community in the Okavango Delta.
The experienced polers take you on a journey through the delta channels.
Enjoy the peace of the delta in a Mokoro. At lunchtime, you stop for a picnic
meal on one of the islands before your guide takes you on a nature walk
where we hope to see more animals. Feel the peace and tranquility of the
Okavango surrounded by hippos and serenaded by the abundant bird life.
In the afternoon your guide takes you a bit deeper into the Okavango to the
campsite. With some game viewing on the way you arrive in camp in time for
dinner.
After dinner sit around the campfire until you spend your first night under
canvas listening to the sounds of the wild.
DAY 2: ON THE ISLANDS OF THE OKAVANGO DELTA (B/L/D)
Spend the whole day inside the Okavango.
You are woken up with a warm “Dumela“ (That is the Setswana word for
“Hello“) and a light continental breakfast waiting for you.
After coffee, tea and breakfast yor guide takes you on your first game drive.
When returning to camp you are served a hearty brunch and then have the
opportunity to shower, unwind and enjoy the view from the camp site. In the afternoon you go on a second game drive and return to camp in time
for dinner.
Enjoy delicious meal cooked over the bushfire by our experienced bush chef
and share the experiences of the day in the evening sitting around the
bushfire before falling asleep once more with the sounds of animals and the
bush around you.
Sometimes we do a short morning game drive only and then go on another
Mokoro excursion with packed lunch on the way.
DAY 3: LEAVING THE OKAVANGO DELTA (B/L/-)
In the early morning you go on a last game viewing activity. Enjoy a last
Dug Out canoe tour or a game drive (your guide will let you know
depending on local circumstances).
After lunch we are starting the journey back to Maun, where most groups
arrive around 15:30h.
