Tourism Saint Louis

Ideally located between the Atlantic Ocean and the sub-Saharan bush, near the Sahara desert,Saint-Louis was founded in 1659. This old city has inherited the colonial architecture that has allowed it to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004.

Saint-Louis' geographical location has also contributed to making it one of the pillars of Senegalese tourism. It is located at the mouth of the Senegal River, about 265 km north of Dakar and not far from the border with Mauritania.

This historic city offers a diversity of places to discover, such as the colonial buildings, the Museum of Photography, The Language of Barabia and the Faidherbe Bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel which connects the island of the city of Saint-Louis in Senegal to the African continent, this UNESCO heritage is worth visiting.
